                    As per the directives of Confederation, the C.O.C Mumbai organized an impressive Dharna at Prathishta Bhawan (Old .G.O.Bldg), from 11.00AM to 3.00PM on 24th November2006.About 450employees representing 30Union / Associations participated in the Dharna which includes a good number of members of Defence Employees Federation A massive rally was also held in the afternoon which was addressed by Com.S.K.Vyas, President of Confederation.                        Central Government Employees and Officers working in various offices in and around Mumbai whole heartedly participated in the one day strike on 14th December 06 demanding to scrap new pension scheme, to raise the interest rate of GPF,to Scrap the new series of Consumer Price Index (2001 = 100) and set up an index review committee., to take firm and swift measures to check price rise., to remove ban on recruitment., to Stop downsizing of workforce,.to stop contratorisation and outsourcing of jobs, to enact legislation against sexual harassment at work place.,ensure full protection for women against atrocities,.immediate measures to ensure right to strike for the workers and employees including government employees. The strike was total in O/O Income Tax, A.G, Postal, Civil Accounts,C.G.H.S,MedicalStoresDepot,K.V.I.C,TextileCommissioner,Jt.DGFT,QualityAssurance,DMI,Customs,BARC,Canteen,FilmsDivision, CPWD,StaffSelectionCommission,MMD,Shipping,DOS&D,Customs,Salt Commissioner ITAT,Passport,ATI,Estate Manager,PressInformation Bureau,PrintingandStationery,RehabilitationCentre,D.G.Shipping, Dy,Labour Commissioner,Materological Deptt.,Family Welfare Centre,T.S.Chanakya,Seamens Employment,Custodian of Enemy Property,MERI,Mess Employees.

                The leaders of the Confederation warned the Govt.that if the Govt. is not settling their legitimate demand employees will be forced to go for more vigorous agitational programmes in near future
